Frequently asked questions
How do I make a GIF from images?
For AI motion, choose Image to GIF, upload one photo, select a template and generate with credits. For a free frame sequence, choose Image to GIF → Combine images · Free and upload at least two JPG, PNG or WebP images. Put the frames in order with the arrows, choose a frame delay and output width, then select Create GIF. Preview the result and download the .gif file.
Is GIF Generator free? Do I need an account?
Combining image frames and converting a local video are free, with no account, watermark or payment required. AI text generation and single-photo animation require login and credits. Costs are shown before generation.
How do I make the GIF file smaller?
Choose a smaller output width or remove frames. A shorter sequence and fewer pixels generally reduce the file size. Increasing the delay changes the playback speed but does not remove frames, so it is not an effective way to compress a GIF.
Can I make my GIF loop forever?
Yes. Leave Loop forever checked to repeat the exported GIF. Uncheck it to export a sequence without a repeat instruction. Some receiving apps may apply their own playback behavior.
Are my images and videos uploaded to a server?
Free frame-sequence and local video conversion happen in your browser without uploading source files. AI text generation sends the prompt for screening and model generation; AI image animation additionally sends a resized copy of the selected photo to fal.ai for input review and generation. Output is reviewed before local GIF conversion.
Can I use pictures made with ChatGPT or another AI image tool?
Yes. Export your pictures as JPG, PNG or WebP, then upload them as frames. For a smoother sequence, keep the subject, framing and dimensions consistent between pictures. The free frame combiner does not invent in-between frames. To animate a single source image, use the separate AI template mode, which requires login and credits.
